Answer: Clay!

That's right. I've been getting artsy again. I'm helping a former teacher, Patricia Sannit, create an amazing piece of art. She was inspired by Citadel in Erbil, Iraq. It is the oldest continually inhabited city in the world. Her piece is somewhat of a tribute to the history of lives integrated in the site.

The piece is rather large for a ceramic piece and she's been getting a lot of community involvement from volunteers to clay contributions.

I will be helping on Fridays from now until baby gets here. To see the work in progress click here. The piece is expected to go on display at ASU at the end of January or early February. You will need to see it to really understand all that it is, and to appreciate all the intricate working of the piece.
