Happy First Birthday Cleo & Clementine!

I first met Monique though etsy when I ordered an adorable lace and ruffle one piece lingerie after my first daughter was born.  She was so sweet, she met with me to get my measurements and then surprised me with a ruffle skirt for my daughter.  I've kept in touch with her since then and have a had a few sewing sessions with her as well.  When she opened Cleo & Clementine last year I was so excited to attend the grand opening event!  I had to restrain myself from buying everything in the store!  I can't believe that was already a year ago!  Since then, they've expanded their space and added a few new local vendors to their selections.  This past Friday they had their one year celebration and we were so excited to see the new space!

LOVE the new features and displays!
Delicious snacks and sparkling drinks!
Would love to sport one of these headbands on my birthday!
Sonja loved this dress. Might have to snag one up for her!
Beautiful new jewelry by XAPPALAND.
Perfect Party Dresses!
Some body products by West Third Brand and Herbivore Botanicals.
My friend Jaxon got the best lemon smelling beard tonic.
How cute are these curly earings?! They remind me of this Little's pig tails.
Monique's line, Ouma, is the most elegant dresses and skirts I've ever seen...
They just make me want to host a party.
and get married again.
I also love how the shop incorporates vintage accents with modern fashion.
And little displays like these scissors and thread make the artist in me so happy!
Love the texture and colors of these details.
Thanks again Monique for hosting such a lovely little gathering, you're such an inspiration!

and before I forget; just this past Wednesday, they launched their website.  So now you, too, can find all their boutique goodies in one place.  You can also find them on facebook, and Instagram.

xoxo

COALATREE Organic Men's Clothing

You may have noticed this amazing Koala to the left on my toolbar.  Just wanted to take a quick second to introduce a new favorite clothing company of mine.  Coalatree is an awesome men's clothing company which also promotes respect for the earth and society.  I found them through a friend and am addicted to their instagram.  They recently sent me some awesome stickers for myself and readers! So, the first 5 people to follow them on instagram (and leave a comment here telling me they did and leaving a contact email), will get a sticker they sent me.  You can also find them on twitter and facebook.

Can't wait to get Husband some new clothes for our soon to be more frequent camping trips!

Upcycled Hair Tie {a simple sewing project}

I recently bought a pair of too long organic cotton yoga pants.  And to make sure the extra length of organic fabric didn't go to waste I made some simple hair ties.  Here's how...

After removing the unwanted length from the pants, I cut that fabric into 1 inch thick strips.
I folded the strips on top of each other as seen above.
I sewed one side down, basic stitch {don't forget to back stitch!}
Above: after the first side was sewn
Slide over and repeat.
Above: Complete
Repeat as often as you have fabric for.

Happy Sewing!
Jenn

Hissyfits Hullabaloo November 2012

This past weekend was the Hissyfits' Hullabaloo here in Central Phoenix.  You may remember my last post about this event {here} and I was so excited to go again this fall and see what they had!  Here's a few images from the event of a few of my favorite booths and then some images of the items my mom and I picked out for Sonja...
This adorable crafter, Nina & Grapey, has the cutest dolls {I've also seen them around town at various boutiques}, one eyed monsters, mushroom dolls and sock monkeys.
Each one with their own adorable name tag.
My mom picked out Tony here for Sonja.
I'm super bummed I didn't catch the name of this cookie tent!
But I did find a new Cupcake baker!  Cake Girl had some amazing cupcakes.
It was a full event! Two parking lots and crowds of people.
I'm also a sucker for words on canvas. How cute are those pillows?!
I super loved all of these couture dresses for little by b.belle.
This newborn cupcake hat was too cute, I wish I had my real camera to get a better picture, but you guys get the idea. above and below by Unravel Me
I ended up getting the newborn hat with ears. Thanks mom!
I loved my snack bags from Hustle Mama last time and my mom decided to pick up a few snack packs for various family this Christmas.

Here is what we went home with...
Robot, Matryoshka and assorted snack packs from Hustle Mama
$1 bobby pin from Carlea Pink
My mom is a sucker for hair clips. Good thing Sonja likes them too. Colored With Love.
From Pockets with Posies, a coffee cozy and owl .
That adorable newborn hat! by Unravel Me
and one for big sister too!  This one was made by Purdy Things.
I don't remember where these adorable clips came from, but if you do, leave a comment!
Also, from Hustle Mama; this memory game stamped on wooden tokens in a handmade bag.
Handmade soap from Essential Body Pleasures.  The Christmas spirit is a perfect winter scent and is going to make a great stocking stuffer for Husband.

Hope you're inspired to check out you local craft events and find some homemade awesomeness.  For future Hissyfits Hullabaloos like them on facebook.
