Artist of the Week No. 2

I thought I'd follow up last weeks primitive cave paintings with an urban version of the same.  Banksy is a well know graffiti artist from Bristol, England.  He deals a lot with consumerism, and violence.  His work is sort of like protest art to me.  He often bashes Tesco which is the English version of Walmart.   His identity is still unknown, leaving his art to speak for itself.  I find his pieces about children the most facinating.

His "fine" art:

He's been known to sneak into museums and hang his framed art up himself.

I'll leave you with these last images, similar to those of last week, but again with urban influence.

Happy Art History Educating!
