Friday was our first full day in Kaua'i and we spent it doing a lot! We planned our trip so that it overlapped with everyone in my family being there. My older sister and her family were there until Friday night so we spent the day meeting up with them before they headed back to the mainland and also with my parents and younger sister.
First we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the Beach Hut I mentioned yesterday. They had Portuguese French toast and a yummy smoothie between the three of us we enjoyed a really good meal for about $12.
And we enjoyed those tasty treats while watching Hanna. Have you seen it? I can't decide if I want to keep the DVD, I liked it in theory but it was kind of weird at the same time. Anyway, Hope you enjoyed viewing our photos from day two, and if you're looking for more food suggestions and relaxing sites, I'll be posting days 3 and 4 this week.
I ate the toast, and Sonja and Hub split the eggs. He also ate the bacon.
We all enjoyed this fresh fruit smoothie.
After enjoying a nap on the beach we headed to lunch with the whole group at Keoki's Paradise. This place was not showing up correctly on the map app so just keep that in mind if you plan on trying to find it!
Here's the full menu and below, the drink menu:
I ordered the STR8 808 Martini but my sister got the Poipu Pina and it came in a full pineapple!
Hummus Trio
Water for the kiddo
Virgin Lava Flow for the nephews.
The seating area.
My Grilled Veggie Sandwich and fries.
After lunch we drove through the tunnel of trees it's a pretty beautiful drive, as you can see in the video:
While on vacation I also picked up a beautiful set of organic plugs. I've yet to get them in my ears though, they're just a bit too big...
Hubs and I enjoyed some local alcohol that evening after saying goodbye to my older sister and her family...
Coconut porter a local beer, but totally available at a Whole Foods near you.
Hula Hula cupcake from a bakery I didn't get the name of, in Poipu.
It was a vanilla type base with a cookies and cream type frosting, and chocolate and macadamia nuts on top.

Love those plugs! I have a very similar type I'm lusting after at OneTribe, but alas, I doubt I'll ever get them.
