Monday we were finally on our own allowed to do whatever we pleased. So, we went for a hike, in the rain forest!
On the 45 minute drive we got this amazing view of the ocean.
and about half way to the trail head we stopped on the side of the road to see the Waimea Canyon.
Isn't it gorgeous?!
It's known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.
I've never been to the Grand Canyon though, even as an Arizona native...
After taking a few amazing photos we headed upwards and onwards to the trail head {Pihea trail in the Na Pali Kona Forest Reserve} and this is the first view of the Na Pali Coast once we started walking:
You can't even see where the ocean meets the sky, that's how blue the water is!
The water with my zoom lens.
After our hike and me getting car sick on the drive home we used my sister's left over pool keys at the Marriott and ordered some tropical drinks.
Yoga on the beach.
That fruit from the farmer's market.
Chickens and Cruise ships.
For dinner we got take out from this little Thai Restaurant walking distance from our hotel.
Summer Rolls, Pad Thai and Spring Rolls.
I loved both the rolls, but the pad thai wasn't what I was expecting, good but not great. Although, as far as restaurant selection goes on the island it was definitely good Thai food.
After such a long and physically exhausting day we called it a night. After all, we did have to go home the next day and needed our rest. Day 6 post next!
