{W & G Wedding} The Night Before.

In celebration of his soon to be union, my Brother in law, brought over some GLENLIVET to enjoy with his brother {Hubs}, our best friend and his sister's boyfriend,  needless to say it was a fun time and don't think the ladies of the house {me and emily} didn't try a sip ourselves :)

Here's a few images before bed time, I promise the next post will be of the wedding itself!
Jameson for our wedding flasks and glenlivet for night before shots

{W & G Wedding} The Rehearsal

This past week was wedding week in my family.  My Brother in law got married to the sweetest gal {who planned EVERYTHING herself in true D.I.Y. fashion.  I guess it helps that she coordinates weddings for a living}.

I thought I'd take a moment to share all the great photographs from the rehearsal.  Enjoy.
PreRehearsal Bathroom photo of my curls!
On my way to the rehearsal.
She did great at the rehearsal!

Groom and father of the bride, practicing the giveaway :)
My toes, because I know you all want to see them.
Hub's younger cousin found this at the venue.

Some guys I know. and a baby too.
A few attempts at family photos.
A little bright, but at least my curls look good :)

Then, we headed to the Mellow Mushroom {a pizza joint, get it?} for the rehearsal dinner.  Everyone got 2 tickets for their prepaid drinks, and the food was SO GOOD! Whole wheat pizza?! How I've missed gluten!
Luke and Jxn.
Sorry, you know the rules; no Cupcake face.
My first drink of the night, only 4% alc.  but so yummy.

It was so great to enjoy a lovely meal with all the family and friends of our brother, although Cupcake was a show stealer and EVERYONE wanted to see her :) just wait until you see her flower girl dress!

D.I.Y. Brandy and Apple Concoction.

Lately, I've been extracting; Vanilla Extract, Orange Extract and now an Apple into Brandy Extract!

My dad had this at his house last week and I thought it would be great to make on New Year's Day since it takes a year to complete, I'll be serving it at my house New Year's Eve 2012!

Here's what you need:
1.75 Liters of E&J Brandy
8 ORGANIC Apples or ORGANIC Pears {cut and quartered}
1 Cinnamon Stick
4 Cups ORGANIC Sugar
Large Glass Container for storing.

The Organic Apples are kind of a big deal because they are technically a member of the dirty dozen family and the harsh pesticides will extract into your drink, creating some pretty toxic stuff, SO BUY ORGANIC FOR THIS!
Remove core and cut into bite size pieces.

Combine ingredients into a LARGE GLASS container, make sure you can shake the container without anything spilling.

Set on counter top and shake a few times a day for the first 2 weeks,
then store in a cool dark place for one year.

I bought the 1 liter size of the E&J {that's all they had at the store] so my recipe is slightly smaller, but I think it will be plenty for my needs.

Good Luck and Happy Home Brewing!
